Family Reading Night

Tonight people all over Illinois celebrate Family Reading Night, a time set aside to turn off electronic devices and curl up with a good book.  Join us here at the library at 7pm as we’ll have stories around the campfire.  You can make a craft, enjoy a snack and be sure to take home some good books to share.  If you can’t come to the library, we hope you can spend a little time reading together with someone you love.

Upcoming Author Visits

Next week, the library will be hosting 2 local authors reading from their newest works.  First up, on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7pm, Mary Jansen Parrent will read from stories and interviews she compiled for her latest work, “Lest We Forget: War Stories and Memories of Germantown, Illinois Veterans”.  The next day, Tuesday, Nov. 17, Fr. Jack Frerker will be here twice – at 2:15 pm and again at 6:30 pm to read from his latest, a children’s book called  “Hi, God”.  Both authors will be happy to answer questions, sign books and will have books available for sale.  Hope to see you there.
