Germantown Public Library Posts

There were balloons everywhere as we kicked off Summer Reading 2013, “Have Book-Will Travel!”  Over 30 kids have signed up so far to travel around the world with books.  As they read, they bring in their passports to be stamped and can move their own little hot air balloon from continent to continent around the circulation desk.  On June 15, Frazzle the Clown was here to juggle, tell jokes, ride his unicycle and treat each child present to their own balloon animal.  There’s still time to sign up, so come in and take an imaginary trip with us in our hot air balloon, as we go around the world with books.

The kindergarten class was recently treated to Author Neal Proud Deer reading from his own works when they came to visit the library.  Mr. Proud Deer has a new childrens’ series called “Pickin’ Chicken” and the kids got lots of laughs hearing about the adventures of the guitar playing rooster.  The library purchased all 5 of the titles, so if you want to see what the Pickin’ Chicken is up to, come on in and check him out.
