The last event of this summer’s “Reading Takes You Everywhere” program will be Saturday, July 14 at 10am. Mad Science of St. Louis will be here with their Up, Up and Away show, all about air and motion. They’ll bring a hovercraft, a mini hot air balloon and lots of silly, crazy science experiments. Everyone who comes will win an attendance prize and we have some great ones, from St. Louis cardinals tickets, jigsaw puzzles and reusable drink bottles to a handmade fleece throw.
The library will be closed Wednesday, July 4, for Independence Day. Have a safe and happy holiday celebration!
Come meet the local author of the popular children’s book series, “Pickin’ Chicken”. There will be stories, games and even chicken feed for a snack. This event is free, begins at 2pm and is part of our summer reading program, Reading Takes You Everywhere!
The library will be closed Monday May 28 for Memorial Day.
Would you like to save money on prescription medications? familywize has provided us with a number of FREE prescription savings cards. There is no cost and no registration needed. Just show the card to the pharmacist and you may be able to save money whether you’re insured or uninsured. Patrons have told us they have seen savings using these cards. Stop in and pick one up today. They are in the library’s front entrance lobby.
This week was Perri’s last day as library clerk. We wish her well and welcome new clerk, Jane Molitor.
Sadly, Miss Perri has given notice that she is leaving the library to spend more time with her family. Her last day will be Wed. April 25. The library would like to invite any and all to stop in any time that day from 10am to 4pm and share memories, say good-bye and wish her well. There will also be cake!
Join us April 9-14 to celebrate National Library Week! Find something new and interesting to bring home to read or watch and enjoy. We’ll have sweet treats for everyone who stops in and you can see all the beautiful pictures our young patrons have colored this year.
Don’t forget to turn your coloring contest entries in here at the library by closing at 4pm on April 4. We’ll be choosing a winner from each class and those lucky children will each get a special prize. (coloring sheets were given to children in grades kindergarten through 4th grade)
