The library will be closed on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 2017 and again on New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1, 2018.  We wish all our patrons a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and peaceful 2018!

Thanks to all who entered our fall coloring contest.  The lucky winners were Sami and Chloe, who each got a new art set so they can keep on creating masterpieces.

The library will be closed this Thursday, Nov. 23 to celebrate Thanksgiving Day.  We will be open regular hours the rest of the week.  We hope all our patrons have a wonderful Thanksgiving and can spend time with loved ones.  Be sure to thank the cook and help with the cleanup!  Your host will be thankful for you.

Join us Thursday night, November 16 at 7pm for Family Reading Night.  We’ll be entertained by Taleypo the Storyteller.  Bring your favorite stuffed toy, wear your PJs and settle in for some good bedtime stories, snacks and enter to win a great attendance prize.  No charge, and fun for the whole family!

The library will be closed Saturday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day.  We salute all veterans and thank you for your service!

Have you noticed any painted rocks around town lately?  They’re probably part of a hobby that’s fun for all ages.  We found this little guy (plus a few others) outside the library.  Want to join in the fun?  Just paint a rock and hide it somewhere around Germantown.  If you find a painted rock, take a photo, post it to the Facebook page, Clinton County Illinois ROCKS, and then re-hide the rock for someone else to find. 

The library will be CLOSED on Monday October 9 for Columbus Day.

St. Joseph’s Hospital is in the midst of their fall health fairs and we have registration forms at the library.  Pre-registration is requested but not required.  There is a fee for some of the testing, but some tests are free.  The remaining fairs include September 27 at Carlyle KC Hall, October 11 at Trenton 1st UMC and October 25 at the Germantown American Legion.

Thanks to the folks at “Get to Know M.E. – the Metro East” we have a beautiful new bench in front of the library.  

It’s 4pm on Friday…LEGO CLUB time!

Join us any Friday from 4 to 5pm.  Nothing to pay or sign, just stop in and build with others who enjoy Legos.  All ages welcome.  Lego creations go on display in the library and you can add to yours each week if you like.
